Directions and Parking information for the Department of Public Health
The Department of Public Health is located in Suite 390 of the Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (HPER) Building on the University of Tennessee's Knoxville campus. The HPER Building sits at the corner of Andy Holt Avenue and Pat Head Summitt Street, adjacent to Tom Black Track.
HPER is made up of two separate buildings conjoined by a breezeway: a gym building and a classroom building. Our office is located on the top floor of the classroom side of HPER. Turn left when exiting the elevator.
Driving Directions
From I-40
Take exit 386B to US-129 South (Alcoa Hwy). From US-129, take the Neyland Drive exit. Turn left onto Neyland Drive. Turn left at the next intersection (Joe Johnson Drive). Joe Johnson Drive becomes Andy Holt Avenue after crossing Volunteer Blvd. The HPER building will be located on your right two blocks after passing the intersection with Volunteer Blvd and, immediately beyond the "sports bubble" and tennis courts.
From McGhee Tyson Airport
Travel north on US-129 (Alcoa Hwy.) toward Knoxville. Take the Neyland Drive exit, which is located one mile passed the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Turn left onto Neyland Drive. Turn left at the next intersection (Joe Johnson Drive). Joe Johnson Drive becomes Andy Holt Avenue after crossing Volunteer Blvd. The HPER building will be located on your right two blocks after passing the intersection with Volunteer Blvd and, immediately beyond the "sports bubble" and tennis courts.
From Downtown
Take Neyland to Thompson Boling Arena. Turn right onto Lake Loudon Blvd. When Lake Loudon Blvd ends at Volunteer Blvd turn left. Go right at the next intersection, onto Pat Head Summitt Street. The HPER Building will be located on your left one block down at the intersection of Pat Head Summit Street and Andy Holt Blvd.
Campus Parking
Parking regulations on the University of Tennessee Knoxville campus are strictly enforced. Parking meters are located along Pat Head Summitt Street and Volunteer Blvd. Information on these and other parking options is available at the Welcome Kiosk, located at the entrance of Circle Park, or on the Parking Services web site.
The Department of Public Health cannot be liable for any parking violations that might be accrued by visitors to the campus.
