Annual Public Health Week Video Assignment
for PUBH 201 Introduction to Public Health
Each year the first full week of April is known as National Public Health Week. In 2016, National Public Health Week is April 4-10. National Public Health Week serves as a time to recognize the contributions of public health and highlight issues that are important to improving our nation. The American Public Health Association developed Generation Public Health, a movement of people, communities, and organizations, to create the healthiest USA in one generation.
Associate Professor Cristina Barroso created the public health week video assignment to increase students’ comprehension of public health-related issues discussed in class and to hone their critical thinking skills. Students created a 2-minute video to educate the public and policymakers about National Public Health Week.
