The Knox County, TN Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program celebrates the start of the 2018 season with a new new website designed in collaboration with a team of students from the Department of Public Health and the Department of Nutrition.
This website was the product of a $3,000 award received by the team for the UTK Baker Center Policy Grand Challenge. The project was part of a Public Health Nutrition class, under the leadership of Dr. Marsha Spence from the Department of Nutrition.
The website is designed to provide information to participants of the WIC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program. It houses information such as: time and location of Knox County farmers markets, participating area farmers, transportation options, a budget widget, what produce is in season in East TN and recipes to make with your farmers market purchases.
