PUBH doctoral candidate to advise international radiation policymaking organization

Doctoral candidate Tom Hansen joined the Department of Public Health with hope that continuing his education would lead to opportunities to work with international policymaking organizations. We are excited to see his hard work pay off, as he has been invited to Vienna, Austria in November to advise the International Atomic Energy Agency on a training module for nuclear facility characterization. The purpose of the event is to launch activities that will lead to a specialized training module and materials that the Agency will offer to its member states, and Tom was nominated by the U.S. government for this purpose.
