The Department of Public Health is pleased to welcome three new faculty members to our team as of July 1. These new additions the public health family will play important roles in our new online MPH program and the strengthening the Applied Practice Experience.
Mallory Gary, PhD, CHES
Assistant Professor of Practice
Assistant Professor Gary has been involved in public health and health education instructor for over 20 years. She is particularly interested in the topics of public health entrepreneurship and leadership, program planning and development, and curriculum development. Her research interests include social health and spiritual health, specifically related to sense of purpose and its impact on the dimensions of health. Complete biography.
Jennifer Perion, PhD, CHES
Assistant Professor of Practice
Assistant Professor Perion began her professional career in the technology field before migrating to public health. Her strong IT background led to a strong interest in online education programs. Her research interests are focused on aging, especially the needs of family and professional caregivers and the social experiences of older adults with dementia. Complete biography.
Jennifer Russomanno, DrPH, MPH, CHES
Assistant Professor of Practice and Applied Practice Experience Coordinator
Assistant Professor Russomanno has served in many varied roles throughout her career from film producer and editor in New York City, to corporate meeting planner, to personal trainer, to medical education coordinator. She is also the co-owner and operator of 2 Chicks and a Farm. She uses these varied career roles in her teaching by incorporating unique lenses and perspectives to public health issues. Her research focus has mainly centered on the examination of food inequities among under-represented populations. Complete biography.
