Biography
Kelly Corr Cooper, MD, MPH is the Director of Clinical Services and an Assistant Public Health Officer at Knox County Health Department. She received her Medical Degree (MD) and Masters in Public Health (MPH) from UNC Chapel Hill in 2009 and 2002, respectively. She has worked in research at the basic science level on HIV vaccines and also in clinical research. After medical school, Dr. Cooper went on to complete a Family Medicine Residency programs in Family Medicine at the University of Virginia and Preventive Medicine at UNC Chapel Hill. She is Boarded in Family Medicine and Preventive Medicine. After training she worked for the Tennessee Department of Health in the East Tennessee Region. Currently, she is the Director of Clinical Services and the Assistant Public Health Officer at the Knox County (Metro) Health Department. Her interests and skills are in improving the use of evidence and population health data in local public health decision-making and working on harm reduction and Hepatitis C interventions.
